Magma Gems
With this real-time project, my job was to create the crystal material using Substance Painter and Designer and the Unreal Engine 4. I used Substance Designer to create the base surface textures for use with Unreal's node-based material Blueprints in order to create a parent crystal material with various inputs for changing color, emission, magma crust, etc. to individualize each crystal instance.

The BumpOffset node was used to push the interior facets texture deeper in the mesh.
Using the original texture, I masked out areas that would give the appearence of magma "encrusted" on the exterior of the crystal

Testing the material instance and the bumpoffset effect that 'pushes' the interior facet texture deeper in the mesh
